What do you consider slow ? How many devices are you talking about ?
Fleet updater is the quickest way to update multiple devices. N.America Map & additional files are 9.12 GB (9,797,533,786 bytes) so depending on you band width.
Updating to a clone SD card is not going to be any quicker.
Just updated DriveSmart 65 took less than 30mins

Quite a bit of devices maybe 500 or so, It would be nice if i can have 40 or so SD cards and run batches of the update all simultaneously. Fleet updater is just too problematic when i'm trying to update these all..for example failing units out of 10 maybe 5 will fail. it's an annoyance.

What devices?
What application, Vehicle rental/Trucking ?
Most companies,do their GPS updates as part of servicing the vehicle.
Using a SD card won't work as the maps/files will be locked, GE and GF create unlock codes (.unl)based on the individual device ID.You could create a clone SD cards for each device but you wouldn't be updating FW or other software on the device .
I assume you have a quality USB hub, cables and PC using Garmin Fleet updater as 50% failure is highLast edited by Garmin_Nuvi; 15th February 2020 at 04:03 AM.
