GPSMAP 66st here, latest official fw 4.10. Windows 10.
I downloaded the two gmap folders from the first post, they work great in BaseCamp.
But when I use Mapinstall to load the entire map in the GPS (inside SD card), GPS says "can't authenticate" at startup and the map does not show at all.
I also tried to download gmapprom(8360)N.rar and D6210110A(8360)S.rar and expanded the two IMG files into the Garmin folder, and I get the same error: cannot authenticate.
I tried to drop the files into gimgunlock 0.04 and it skips all the files doing nothing. Both IMG files have A attribute. I tried the drag and drop method and the command line method: all files are skipped.
How do I make these work in my GPS? It's the first time that I have working maps in BaseCamp, but don't authenticate when I mapinstall them in the GPS. With my older Oregon 650 it never happened.
Note that in the same GPS I have an unlocked City Navigator North America 2021.10, so it definitely supports these maps.
I was looking for the entire Europe.
Thank you!
Sorry bumping this question, I am really at a loss:
I downloaded from another post in this thread another copy of the same Europe map (19GB). In this one the IMG files are specifically labeled as "unlocked IMG", divided in north and south Europe. Also the provided "Protected Garmin toolkit" confirms they are unlocked, but again when I copy them to my GPSMAP 66st, I get the same startup error "Cannot authenticate maps".
Do I have to patch the firmware of my GPS, or get some code from it and enter it somehow in the IMG maps? But then why another North America 2021.10 map that I downloaded somewhere else works just fine? Anybody has any information that can help?Last edited by Garmin_Nuvi; 7th April 2020 at 02:53 AM.

Indeed, i confirm that the NT 2020.10 NT Europe map works, the NTU does not. That is the difference also with the GPSMAP 66st / 66i.
Where do I get the correct code to put in IMGTool? An XML in the GPS ?
Edit
Ok, found my answer, 1252 is the latin codeLast edited by Garmin_Nuvi; 9th April 2020 at 03:06 AM.

Hello gentlemen,
I know that I will appear newbee when I asked this question but as you know yourself well on the subject then I allow myself to ask it.
I have a Maserati ghibli 3 and I would like to update the maps of its gps to date. except that by following articles I came to join you. could you explain to me how to update it for Europe finally which procedure to follow and which file of all the links which you posted should I download please?
Is there a tutorial to explain step by step how to install all this please?
Thank you very much in advance.

The first post has a link to Maps: there are 2 listed gmapprom(N).img and d6210110A(S).img.
For France you want the d621011A file (for some reason France is in the south file).
Download this and extract. Rename the img file to gmapsupp.img. Create a folder on a usb drive called garmin and put the gmapsupp.img file in it.
Turn MTC on and insert the usb, it will say ‘validating update’ with a spinning egg timer. (If it works this should stop within 5 minutes, of it is still on the timer after 10 mins it is likely to fail).
It will then say new map found do you want to update. Just touch yes.
This doesnÂ’t replace the installed file but adds it as a supplemental map.Last edited by Garmin_Nuvi; 28th April 2020 at 09:31 AM. Reason: Correct quote used

North:
South (France):
As I said France is annoyingly in the south so doesn’t include the countries immediately surrounding it.
The Europe wide maps created don’t seem to work and I haven’t figured out how to get all of Europe, only north or south work and you can only have 1 supplemental map at a time.
