Dear Mr. Garmin_Nuvi, once again I can't help but to tell you, that you are plain wrong. Like in the case of SQLite files for the CN North America 2024.10 ... At that time, you asserted that the thumbnail images of the Garmin release didn't sport Haiti, although that was the first time that Haiti was included in the North American Map.
This time again, you answered to Mr. Lusitano that "Madeira is included but the Azores and a few Spanish territories are not included." while posting a thumbnail image coverage of Western Europe. Subsequently, you uploaded an .img build from OpenStreetMap ... to answer the fact that your uploaded .img file was missing the requested coverage as 'bandaid over a failure'.
However, you are plain wrong again ... Madeira, the Canarias, the Azores & African territories Ceuta and Melilla are Always part of all Garmin Europe releases. It's only your img build that misses the Azores & African territories Ceuta and Melilla.
Here is the graphical proof, as a snapshot of my Windows 7 MapSource 6.16.3, as the name of the mapset can be seen in the upper left corner.
I plan to upload this .img build tomorrow on this website, if ever permitted.
However, I found troubling, that as administrator of all Garmin threads on this website, your recent endeavour has been to gobble up all kind of img build for special limited scope, either region or country, maybe to provide an uplift on your own 'likes' ? Pre-empting post from Tomojure for example (for countries or regions) or mine for entire countries. Well, I don't care that much for that, as I have other priorities than avidly posting here, and transfixing on my 'likes'. But if you intends to do evrything first, we here would expect you, as official admin, to do it properly, which as of late hasn't been the case.
I hope you fully understand my worries on that situation.Antonio19 Reviewed by Antonio19 on . This was asked and answered some time ago. Garmin has still in their description
commented on .
I suggested he use the Southern Europe map from Garmin Express 2.93 GB, which he did.
I added what was previously popular The with the addition of the Islands that mentioned being a smaller option at 871 MB
The images are from the program & is very useful as you can compare map to map and show where they overlap or exclude. They use OpenStreetMap for their base map.
Firstly I'm one of the moderators of the Garmin section.
Posting as you well know is on a first in first basis. I'm often late to the party, but it doesn't stop me from contributing.
You make an uninformed comment about Pre-empting Tomojure as in fact I gave him the ability to use my Life Time NT maps for Europe so he could create map sets for him to share.
I'm human & make mistakes, but it would appear you have found it your niche of complaining if you miss out on creating a new thread and finding fault where others are just grateful to get what they seek quickly ,even though you say you have other priorities.
I moved your Post as this is not specific to any region of maps ,but a general comment.
As much fun this has been I really don't want to continue this discussion as you, I too have other priorities.

Hi Antonio19,
I allow myself to intervene on your post because I think you made a mistake.
GN is one of the most helpful on this forum and most often has a fair and correct answer.
Remember that he is first and foremost a human being and as such he can also sometimes make mistakes, but he can admit his mistake and correct it immediately (example in this ).
ps: sorry for my bad english, I just hope you understand me.
Trouble is, this guy is making a lot 'mistakes' recently : Maps coverage, Maps locking, affirmations about what is inside SQLite files and references to specific GPS models (which is without merit on SQLite files).
He has an emphasis to gobble up everithing (like no other admins had in 20 years) and post hurried up answers, mostly badly formatted ones, which as of lately contains a lot of 'errors', even incriminating Garmin for his own missteps, that's in itself is quite an achievement ... This behaviour is a first in 20 years here. His further comment of 'if you miss out on creating a new thread and finding fault where others are just grateful to get what they seek quickly, even though you say you have other priorities.' is a clear admission that he is on a rampage to set records and 'likes'. However, he is a first among admins on this website for the number of erroneous statements, which I believe is more damaging than involontary errors like posting locked materials (which again demonstrates an inclination to post without checking properly).
Well, prior to the incorronation of Mr. Garmin_Nuvi and for I believe ~ 20 Years (from the time of their previous website which had some legal issues with Garmin), I never saw a Garmin admin behaving like this one. I again never seen repetitive arrors on posting, in addition incriminating Garmin for his / her shortfalls. This proves beyond a reasonable doubt, that his ego doesn't match his basic capabilities, whatever he can add on the matter.
I believe his only value on the website is to have bought many Garmin GPS in many Continents (countries) and therefore having access to published Garmin updates.
Then I will answer directly to Mr. Garmin_Nuvi. I happen to have as well Life Time NTU (not NT you will note) for Europe and Life Time NT for North America. So I don't really care about 'your valued contribution' here. I am not in the hunt every day to connect a GPS, in order to know when an update happens, although I have dozen of Garmin GPS.
I believe that non-human mostly don't use computers. So, we are all human beings, however, each of us has a 'public' track record and that's what matter for adequation to a given task or job, and I truly believe that this guy Garmin_Nuvi isn't fit for the job, whatever his number of NTU / NT Life Time Maps update. He can just contribute as non admin.
Then his censoring action to remove my post which was exposing his deficiencies, albeit politely, about his shortcomings on the specific map img he posted covering the Iberian Peninsula NTU 2024.10. And detailing his explanation that 'I moved your Post as this is not specific to any region of maps', is again a further proof on the matter. So my post isn't specific to the Iberain Peninsula CN Europe 2024.10 ? Maybe Garmin_Nuvi is living on the moon elsewhere ...
But if he just meant to provoke me one more time on 'creating a new thread' I am ready to give him a hard ride.

Let me tell you something : You and only you are acting as a bully, period. You are fully unable to take full responsibility for your own [failed] posting, and that's the problem. You mislead repeatidly people asking / complaining about missing maps in your img uploads.
For the records you posted an Iberia 2024.10 img which was missing the Azores (and the African Territories of Spain) as the requester Lusitano told you. You answered that the Azores were not part of the Garmin CN Europe 2024.10 [which is a lie], incriminating Garmin for your own failure. That's a first here on this entire website and a further proof of you inabality to moderate the Garmin thread.
When I posted a screenshot of MapSource proving you wrong you just deleted my post and now when asking you to take responsibility you pretends I am bullying you ? The truth is that you are mostly un-able to answer properly to people posting on the Garmin Maps threads. As this is the second time in a raw, since the start od 2023, that you provide misleading information.
Dear Garmin_Nuvi I am going to escalte your actions to the person in charge of this website.

If you are looking to OpenStreetMap builds, there is a readily better option for noobies than building with ... Someone in South America makes builds quite frequently of mostly all countries and continents using a Linux build machine. Therefore these maps could be viewed in Linux or Windows MapSource, and of course you have the GPS img file as a separate download. Since Garmin doesn't publish any global maps of the Caribbeans, I use his build with success. In addition he offers maps with DEM as a separate download.

Dear members, let's keep it cozy here.
If something is not quite right, or if there is a suspicion of a major mistake, please resolve it properly via a PM.
Posting again and again that something is wrong does not make the forum more attractive.
I assume I'm dealing with reasonably mature people?
So let everyone behave accordingly.
Another addition to the rules of the game.

Rule #2 In the very unlikely event that the moderator is wrong after all, read rule #1
Fare you all well
