Garmin Atemos 100
I bought an Alpha 100, at least so I thought, but in fact it is an Atemos 100.
The hwid for the Atemos 100 is 2894 and Alpha is 1562. Is there even the smallest chance that the Atemos can be converted into a Alpha?
Or should I just try to sell it?oll0n Reviewed by oll0n on . Garmin Atemos 100 I bought an Alpha 100, at least so I thought, but in fact it is an Atemos 100. Atemos 100 is the natural successor of the Alpha 100.It has a lower radio power which allows it to be used even in those countries (Italy is one of them) where the Alpha 100 is banned. The minimum refresh rate is 5 seconds, against 2.5 seconds for the Alpha 100. This feature, according to most experts, does not compromise functionality, on the contrary it saves the battery. Both the Atemos 100 and the Alpha 100 are easily Patchable (if you are interested I can prepare the patched Firmware). Finally, since the HWIDs are different there is no way to convert an Atemos 100 to an Alpha 100

I wouldn't call Atemos the successor of the Alpha 100, maybe the retarded cousin. It is the dog collars that do the transmitting (well most of it).
Not all countries allows the use of the frequencies that the Atemos uses. Some allows both, some only one of them and some countries don't allow any of them.
The unit is identified as an Atemos, but it sits in a Alpha housing. Also the mainboard is identical to my Alpha 100.
For what its worth this string is from the system.xml
If its an Alpha 100 that is flashed to Atemos or if the mainboard has been switched out is hard to tell, but it indicates that it uses a pcb from Alpha.

Okay, I just expressed my opinion based on the data I read. I don't own either of them.
If you want to try to flash the Alpha 100 Firmware in the Attemos 100, you are free to do it whenever you want, obviously at your own risk.
