zumo 345 search is not working
Hi there,
I have recently bought new motorcycle zumo 345 with Central Europe maps.
Since I have installed all Europe maps 2019.30
I have noticed that my search is not working correctly.
I cant find the streets, post codes or even cities like Newcastle in UK!
If I search Newcastle town in United Kingdom I get one result Newcastle, County Down in Nothern Ireland.
I can confirm that in myMaps both maps(2019.30) are ticked on.
If I search for street I am in somehow I get results in Nothern Ireland.
I have tried resetting it.
Could anyone would have any idea why it's happening?
Thanks!

I have tried FireFox58. It still not working.
Any other ideas I could try?
Is my only option to send it to warranty? And what about patched firmware?
Thanks!

Hi Jeanet,
If I tick one map it finds only one result in Northern Ireland.
And if I tick another - it says "Map data is not available".
Thanks
P.S. But if I tick original Central Europe Map and search for city Newcastle it finds it and I can navigate to.
Strange, UK is not in Central Europe maps. I am confused how these maps works and whats in them.
For me seems like the newly installed maps crashes with original maps maybe?
Anything else I could try guys?Last edited by GPS_NAV; 9th April 2019 at 01:40 AM.

I am having problems with only All Europe map ticked off.( It's 2 maps, I believe South and North).
I have read that you shouldn't use 2 same maps at the same time.
But Central Europe map is my main map in device memory (and recognised in Garmin Express) and All Europe map is on SD card.
Is there a way to completely remove Central Europe map from a device? Is it just a case of deleting .img file?

Normally when you load 2 Maps with same FID, the larger one hides the smaller one.
If you want view the smaller Map, you have to uncheck the larger Map.
I don't figure out what could be wrong.
You can anyhow remove original gmapprom.img (Central Europe) from device and check what' going on.
If it works, take care of the original Map to reuse it in case of Update

Thanks guys! I think I have fixed it!
I've deleted gmapprom.img file in a system folder in a device and transfered both .img files for All Europe map from SD card to device memory (just about enough space) and renamed them gmapprom.img and gmapprom1.img.
Not only it's now feels much speedier to use, but it seems search is working now.
Of course I have to use it more to see if its all as good as it should be.
So I am not sure what was a problem. Maybe cheap/slow SD card or just too many maps.
Thanks all for your help!

It is not allowed to have the intersection of map coverage for one version of the map. Garmin map is similar to a file system of any computer. When the device had read a new map for the first time it makes an image of this file system in its memory. In a case when the intersection of map coverage takes place no one can know how and that was loading in the device. The ticking in a map list may do not works right respectively. That is why strongly recommended making a hard reset (non-volume clearing) after loading new maps because the old cache of memory will be cleared completely too.
P.S. It does not necessarily to delete the old files if you want to involve it's into your experiments. Just rename its extension to bak or txt for example. But hard reset is recommended in any case.
