Re-created SD card Patch kit today

Firmware name: Firmware version 8.80 for nuvi 25x9 C4.
Applying rule set MSV... Ok.
Applying rule set GVS... Ok.
GCD signature removed.
File patched successfully.
The result is saved to H:\Device Firmware\nuvi 2589\1947\GUPDATE_Patched.GCD
Make sure your device is fully charged.
Unpack contents to fresh SD card formatted FAT32
Ensure your device is fully OFF (not in standby), insert the card into the devices data SD card slot and power on.
Powering-on by plugging in the vehicle power cable is advised for devices with poor battery life.
"Loader" will appear on screen for a while then the device will boot up when the flash of patched firmware is complete.
Your device may reboot its self during the process just be patient.
Your SD card will have a new file named 154.bin this is a backup of the device's non-volatile memory region and may save your device later if needed, so keep a copy of it somewhere safeLast edited by Garmin_Nuvi; 22nd September 2021 at 01:40 PM.

Astro430_Alpha50_350.gcd | 2442 | 350 | MAP: Yes | GMA: Yes | MSV: Weak | GVS: --- | File:
Two options for your device
1. MSV: Weak - it verifies the validity of map signatures in a simple way, you can unlock an .img using gimgunlock-0.04MapSigPatch (without patching your firmware), but in case of unicode maps (CP65001) you must modify the CP value.
2. Patched Firmware :
This tool that allows you to "remove" from your device all the protections listed above, allowing the use on devices of any Unlocked Map, including NTU.
How to install WebUpdater
Download and unpack Astro430_Alpha50_350_Patched_JNX.rar on to the PC where your device is attached. Your desktop is easy
Be sure to remove & Back up All BirdEyes images (JNX files) currently present on
your device before applying the Patch
BirdEyes images can be restored AFTER flashing new firmware
Then you can drag-and-drop Astro430_Alpha50_350_Patched_JNX.gcd onto the WebUpdater "Short cut icon" on your desktop.

@
You don't say what device ,but maybe the older version worked because it included your device ,the updated version 2.20 adds more recent devices
