You can find Patched Firmware for your device
That is true. Maps with modified CP to 1252 work on both devices but unfortunately JNX not, you need patched firmware.
This is a Patched Firmware (JNX + Unlocked Maps) for eTrex 20x/30x ver. 3.00
Since eTrex 20x/30x (HWID: 2250) does not have the GSV and falls into category 2
MSV: Yes, GSV: ---
In this case the Patched Firmware guarantees the correct reading of Unlocked Maps, including NTU and TOPO Maps with CP 65001.
The Patched Firmware guarantees reading of BirdsEye JNX images too.
Be sure to remove All BirdsEye images eventually present on Device before apply Patch
BirdEyes images can be restored AFTER flashing new firmware
Also, in this case the "patched" Firmware can be loaded through the normal update procedure via WebUpdater
Changes made from version 2.90 to 3.00:
- Improved text placement on list pages for Arabic language
This is a Patched Firmware (JNX + Unlocked Maps) for eTrex 22x/32x ver. 2.50
Since eTrex 22x/30x (HWID: 3445) does not have the GSV and falls into category 2

Changes made from version 2.00 to 2.50:
- Fixes potential issue with altimeter calibration.

Thank you very much for your help.
My etrex 32x has HWID3445 and firmware version 2.50.
Could you clarify if the two previous firmwares:
eTrex22x_32x_Webupdater_ (3445) _250_JNX_Patched.rar
eTrex22x_32x_Webupdater__250_Patched_JNX.rar
Are they exactly the same and unlock the City Navigator and JNX maps simultaneously?
I see that if you open them with a hexadecimal editor they are different.
The images included in your post also seem to indicate that the application on the left (IMG Checks Patcher v1.20) patches the firmware to use City Navigator and JNX and the one on the right (JNX Loader Patcher V. 3.80) only patches the Original firmware to see JNX.
In both cases it is necessary to increase "Adjust firmware version number" to 1, right?

[QUOTE=Garmin_Nuvi;357324]
Hello again:
My etrex 32x, without patching the firmware, shows me the CITY NAVIGATOR NT perfectly. However, if the map file has more than 200 mb (approximately) the GPS hides them and I cannot select it. The same is true with OSM maps that are not protected.
Any suggestions? (I note that the internal memory of the 8GB GPS is very full, has a few mb free, maybe it need additional space to manage the map data, more space the larger the map is, and it is not enough that the SD card is almost empty ???)

Have never run out of space on any of my GPS units.
You need to check why you have almost no space on the internal memory.
Try moving some of the items to the SD card.
See the list below as to where you can put files.
Map Names
These are default map names used by Garmin. Do not use these file names when saving your maps.
- gmapprom.img | Primary or Pre Installed Map
- gmapprom1.img | Secondary Map
- gmapbmap.img | Device Base Map
- gmapoem.img | OEM Installed Map (can not be disabled in Map Settings)
- gmapsupp.img | Map written to device or uSD card by MapSource
- gmaptz.img | Time Zone Map
- gmap3d.img | Primary 3D Buildings Map
- gmap3d1.img | Secondary 3D Buildings Map
Map Install Direct
Not all maps require installation to a host computer before being sent to your Garmin GPSr. Maps in the following formats can be copied directly to a compatible eTrex GPSr or microSD card as shown:
- IMG: [GPSr]\Garmin\ or [microSD]\Garmin\
- KMZ: [GPSr]\Garmin\CustomMaps\ or [microSD]\Garmin\CustomMaps\
- JNX: [GPSr]\Garmin\BirdsEye\ or [microSD]\Garmin\BirdsEye\
- GPX: [GPSr]\Garmin\GPX\ or [microSD]\Garmin\GPX\

Both Package contain the same Patched Firmware, and both have NTU & JNX Patch and Firmware version increased by 0.01 (this is to bypass release check by Device).
A little difference in Hexadecimal comparing maybe possible due to sequence of patching.
I confirm that, with original firmware, Device read Unlocked NT Maps but NOT Unlocked NTU Maps & JNX Maps

Hi Firefox 58, Genio3, Colin1, Antonio19 and Olda1
I have several Garmin teams; 30, 50LM, 255W, 1690, 3590 and 3597LMT.
Two days ago I updated through the Garmin Express on 3590 and 3597LMT with the City Navigator North America NT 2021.10
and Canada, USA and Mexico took charge, actually I only use Mexico and download the IMG Mexico from this link:
I have read this post report 241 to 255 and I have done everything indicated in it for 3590 and 3597LMT.
I have used gimgunlock-0.04.exe and GarminUnlockerAlternativev8.0.1 and it does not recognize the map from SD.
I tried with three SD cards, 2 of 4 GB and one of 8 GB.
I would appreciate your comments, greetings.Last edited by cibereldon; 7th March 2020 at 03:27 AM.

I will summarize my experience buying a Garmin Etrex 32x GPS with HWID 3445 a week ago.
This model seems an evolution of the Etrex 30 and the Etrex 30x but with 8 GB of internal memory.
I want to mention that I have an Etrex 20 patched. I also have a Forerunner 250 and a Fenix 3 without patching and I have some experience in the field although I am not a specialist.
Another curious fact is that the 32x version is 50 euros cheaper than the old 30x that only has 4 GB of internal memory instead of 8 GB. Why?
The first thing that caught my attention is that it only supports tracks in the internal memory and not on the SD card. This aspect was confirmed by Garmin.
What seemed strange to me is that it deletes the tracks from the SD card without requesting permission: they disappear. This can be a problem because if you load a corrupt track in the internal memory it may be that the GPS is disabled and you cannot access via USB to erase it. Should we take it to the technical service?
In theory, GPS should open CITY NAVIGATOR NT maps (not NTU) by patching them because it has MSV: Weak:
Model: eTrex 22x / 32x | HWID: 3445 | SWVS: 250 | MAP: Yes | GMA: Yes | MSV: Weak | GVS: ---.
Indeed, open those maps but their size cannot exceed 200 Mb. The same happens with free topographic maps. Occasionally, it loads larger free NT or topographic maps (400 Mb) but I don't know in what circumstances.
I always mean using the external SD card to install such maps.
The installation procedure has been with MAPINSTALL 4.0.4 (not with the latest version because it gave problems, like BaseCamp. I use v 4.6.2) in a virtual GPS (pendrive) and then copy the map image to the SD (I could have done it directly to the SD I guess).
Patch the device by copying the .gcd file on this page to the Garmin folder of the internal memory:
It seemed that the firmware was updated, loaded and updated but, to my surprise, it returned to the original firmware. I deduce this because the GPS still did not open NTU or JNX maps and kept showing version 2.50 in “About”.
I also tested the firmware of another forum only for JNX maps:
Copy the .gcd file back to the Garmin folder of the unit but this time I don't even load it and I think the gps deleted it too.
I have not continued investigating because another forum said the units as of 2019 had the firmware encrypted and could not be patched. Although in theory the Etrex 32x should be able to be an improvement of the Etrex 30x.
Maybe it would have worked using WebUpdater, or by copying the maps into the internal GPS memory as was the case with the tracks, but then what is the SD card for?
My theory is that Garmin has modified the firmware of the new units, which is why he sells them cheaper because he hopes to recover his money with the mapping.
I am mainly interested in JNX maps because I make my own maps and that format greatly facilitates their use in Garmin.
I don't understand why Garmin wants to charge for using that format. It would be as if Microsoft charged for using devices formatted in NTFS and not in FAT32 (I know it's not the same, it's just an example).
I would appreciate any information from a recent buyer of an Etrex 32x regarding its patching and installation of JNX maps or City Navigator NT / NTU
For now, I find it more interesting to use a smartphone with the ORUXMAPS APK (free on its website). It allows many map formats and download them online too.
regards
Hello again:
I want to comment on my new experiences. I have had the opportunity to patch an Etrex 30x and an Etrex 32x and I have not had any problem. I downloaded the original firmware from Perry's page and applied the two programs to unlock the JNX (UNIVERSAL FIRMWARE PACHER 380) and the City Navigator NTU (IMGPATCHER 220 latest version January 2020) to the downloaded firmware, no matter the order, and everything worked perfectly. NT Maps do not need to unlock GPS, only the map with GIMGUNLOCK v.0.04.
I believe my first Etrex 32x unit was defective.
I have also concluded that the Etrex 32x, having an 8 Gb internal memory full of Garmin maps, cannot handle new large maps. If you want to add your own maps you have to remove some of Garmin. I have also verified that the maps can be deleted and reinstalled without problem or the maps can be transferred to the microSD.Last edited by salvadordopa; 1st April 2020 at 03:56 AM. I do not understand!
You have a Life Time subscription, why do you want to complicate your life?
If you are not interested in Total North America Coverage, download the reduced MapSet of Mexico only, Garmin Express allows you to easily do so.
However, your devices don't need any Firmware Patch to read Unlocked Maps.
Copy the Unlocked IMG of Mexico to the \Garmin folder of the microSD, name it as gmapsupp.img.
Remember that in order to read this Map there must not be another Map with the same or greater coverage in the device memory (folder \ .System).
I mean that if you have Full North America Map in \System folder (gmapprom.img), the Device load this and NOT the Map in microSD
