B1ng0:
Ok sorry there is a 154.bin file on the mSD card.
Here is the output of the update.log file in teh 1947 folder:
Parsing "del,0:/.System/gupdate.gcd"
Error
Parsing "rrgn,154,2:/BUK_154.bin"
Success
Parsing "xrgn,14,2:/Garmin/Updater/1749/14.bin"
Success
Parsing "xrgn,127,2:/Garmin/Updater/1749/127.bin"
Success
Parsing "xrgn,158,2:/Garmin/Updater/1749/158.bin"
Success
Parsing "reboot"
I do not see a GUPDATE.GCD file in the .System folder, a search did not find it anywhere.
So Ill wait for your response but I assume I can delete the update.log in the 1947 folder and try it again?
Thank You
~ Phil

The LOG file shows that the flash has been successful, there are no errors apart from the first command to delete the GCD file and that's because it wasn't there to delete anyway. Your device is patched. See my reply #743 for the likely problem.

Hi thank you for checking the log file for me, so it did update interesting.
I read your #743 post and the other Garmin that my custom map works in is a Nuvi 1490 which is an auto GPS. I can send you a copy of the IMG file if you want to see if you can tell from it if the map is the cause of the issue? It was made with MapSource.
Thank You
~ Phil

Yes please upload a copy of the custom map. If you don't wish it to be publicly available send me the link via PM, just click on my user name in a post and then click 'Private Message' to open a 'send new message' window. Also please advice which series and version Topo you are using in conjunction with your custom map or supply a link to it as well.

How can I upload it here? If not here do you have a website I can make an account on to upload a file?
THank you ~ PHil

@mpilihp
You can attach it in advanced editor (Use "Go Advanced" rather than "Post Quick Reply button). The server will accept compressed files in RAR or ZIP format up to 12MB.
If you don't want to post it publicly however you cannot attach files in a PM so it would need to be uploaded to a host site such as Anon Files, Mega NZ, Zippyshare etc..

Um, no thanks. That site requires an email address to be entered to get the link. Please either send me the direct link by PM or use one listed in post #749. There are others that don't require either registration or an email to download.

I think this problem is due a software restriction in newer automotive devices. Your map works well in a nuvi 500 (an auto/outdoor/marine "all round" device). it also works in a nuvi 1390 which is almost an identical device to your 1450 other than a smaller 4.3" screen. Now the bad news, in a nuvi 3597, the device latest i have on hand, your custom trails don't show even though "Gpx2img" is listed and checked in the map selection page, exactly as you described for your nuvi 65:
It would take someone above my paygrade to modify the fw, even if that is in fact possible.
I guess your best course likely is to buy a cheap 2nd hand outdoor device, they will reliably display the topo features and your custom trails fully and be far more weather resistant and robust than any auto device when used on a snowmobile. Sorry i can't be of more help.

Thnx, does anyone know something for 2024 maps?
